
Jim Andrews
Based in Canada, Jim Andrews is an Artist-Programmer, Visual Poet, Essayist, and Senior Technical Writer. Mostly his work is published on his website www.vispo.com and turbulence.org from New York. Andrews also publishes his essays in books and print periodicals, contributing to occasional shows in galleries and festivals. His work Arteroids was shown in Los Angeles at Machine Gallery and in Hong Kong at the Microwave festival. ABC Architecture appeared on the cover of Taiwan's Chung Wai literary magazine. Andrews gained an Artist in Residence contract from the Canada Council for September-February (2002-2003) in Toronto at the Centre for Creative Communications. He was Canada Council jury member, Electronic Writing, August 2002 and obtained a Senior Canada Council grant to pursue interactive audio, in July 2001. He has given many talks and presentations at events including the Victoria Independent Film Festival in July 2005. His work is taught, or on the recommended reading list of a number of Digital Media, Art and Technology University courses in North America, Europe and Australia.
